I would tell you a story, of someone with stories who stopped telling them. Who is walking away from "how I got hurt" and "why I can't", and making new stories instead, about "how I found a shiny thing" and "why it wasn't so hard after all". And better, about how sometimes it was that hard, but worth it anyway.

Sometimes I program computers, or hike up mountains. Sometimes I hide from the smog and ash of wildfires. Sometimes I have great plans. Sometimes I forget. But in my better moments, I want to run my hands through the future's hair and kiss it until it becomes real.
